American Sitcom Gilligan’s Island first aired on CBS in 1964 and was canceled in 1967 after 3 seasons but this relatively short run for a TV sitcom was still long enough to garner a strong cult fan following.
Perhaps it is time for a Netflix remake, maybe?
Gilligans Island was created and produced by Sherwood Schwartz and with the cast including Bob Denver and starred Alan Hale Jr., Natalie Schafer, Jim Backus, Tina Louise, Dawn Wells, and Russell Johnson.
The story follows the boat S.S. Minnow on a 3-hour Island Tour. When the S.S. Minnow capsizes off an uninhabited island the passengers and crew are marooned and cast away on an uninhabited tropical island.
Every episode was written as an attempt (often comically) to find a new way to escape the Island with each attempt falling short.
