Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has become a popular anime series in recent years. One of the most popular characters in the anime is Kyojuro Rengoku, aka the Flame Hashira.

The Kyojuro Rengoku’s story arc in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba begins during the thrilling Mugen Train arc.
The Flame Hashira is one of the highest-ranking members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Kyojuro Rengoku The Flame Hashira is known for his fiery personality and his passion for killing demons.
During the Mugen Train story arc, Kyojuro is sent to investigate the disappearance of humans who were last seen on the train.
Kyojuro meets Tanjiro Kamado and his companions on the Mugen train with Kyojuro quickly taking a liking to Tanjiro.
During the Mugen Train arc, Kyojuro showcases his incredible swordsmanship skills and his ability to control flames, using his flame-breathing technique to defeat the demons and protect his comrades.
He also shows his unwavering determination and bravery in the face of any and all danger he meets.
He is willing to put his own life on the line to protect his comrades and defeat the demon responsible for the disappearances using his flame-breathing technique to create a barrier that shields his comrades from Enmu’s attacks.
It is only after an epic battle between our heroes and Enmu that Tanjiro is able to administer the fatal blow and kill Enmu but not before Tanjiro is badly wounded.
But things take a bad turn when Akaza arrives and battles Kyojuro and fatally wounds the Flame Hashira.
Kyojuro Rengoku – Character Analysis
Kyojuro Rengoku is a complex and well-developed character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series.
He is dedicated to his family and comes from a long line of demon slayers and has great pride in carrying on his family legacy.
The death of his father had a deeply profound impact on Kyojuro’s life making him vow to protect his family and to become the best demon slayer he could be.
Kyojuro’s passion for his work as a demon slayer is also evident in his interactions with others. He is always eager to help his fellow Demon Slauers and is quick to offer words of advice and encouragement. In the short time that Kyojuro is with Tanjiro during the Mugen Train arc, he is able to teach Tanjiro valuable lessons about being a demon slayer, telling him that it is important to stay true to oneself and to always fight for what is right.
However, Kyojuro is not without his flaws.
Kyojuro has a stubborn streak and can at times be quick to jump to conclusions. He also has a tendency to sometimes recklessly put his own life on the line. This is evident during the Mugen Train arc when he takes on Enmu on his own putting himself in harm’s way.
Kyojuro Rengoku – Abilities
As the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku possesses incredible swordsmanship skills and the ability to control flames. He uses a breathing technique called “Flame Breathing” that allows him to generate flames from within his body, which he can then uses to enhance the power of his sword strikes.
As the Flame Hashira Kyojuro’s mastery of the Flame Breathing technique is unparalleled. He is able to use it to create powerful attacks that can incinerate lesser demons on the spot.
Kyojuro is also able to create walls of flames that he uses to protect himself and those around him from enemy attacks with his uniquely designed “Nichirin Sword” which is specially crafted to enhance the power he can generate with his sword strikes.
As the Flame Hashira his skill with the sword as you would expect is exceptional, making him one of the strongest members of the Demon Slayer Corps.
