We have a new Funko Pop Movies: Lord of the Rings (LOTR) – Smeagol (Transformation) Funko Pop Walmart Exclusive to talk about today. Here is all the news and info on this new Walmart Exclusive.
The opening of the Return of the King gave us the origin story of Smeagol, and his transformation into Gollum and showed just how quickly he was corrupted by the power of the One Ring.
We learn that like Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, Smeagol was once a simple Hobbit, content to live in the peaceful Shire with his family until he and Déagol his best friend and cousin find the one ring while river fishing in a boat.
The ring quickly influences the pair and a struggle ensues for possession of the ring with Smeagol drowning Déagol to take ownership of what is to become known to Smegoal as the precious.
The One Ring transforms Smeagol into the creature known as Gollum. Elements of Smeagol remain in Gollum as he switches between moments of being both Gollum and Smeagol. They are one and the same, two different personalities trapped in the same body.

Smeagol is a character from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy known for his bizarre behavior and odd mannerisms created by the influence that the One Ring holds over him.
Originally a Hobbit from the Shire he becomes increasingly obsessed with the Ring, to the point where he is unrecognizable as a happy-go-lucky Hobbit. His personality changes dramatically. He becomes paranoid, sneaky, and untrustworthy. He now spends his days lurking in dark caves keeping his precious safe.
