“Gremlins 2: The New Batch” is a 1990 comedy-horror film directed by Joe Dante and serves as a sequel to the awesome 1984 hit “Gremlins.” The New Batch brings back the mischievous creatures, the Gremlins, in a more chaotic and humorous fashion if that is even possible.
Set in a futuristic high-rise building in New York City, the story follows Billy Peltzer played by Zach Galligan, and his girlfriend Kate Beringer played by Phoebe Cates, who now work at the Clamp Center, a mega-corporation run by eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp played by John Glover and takes a satirical turn as it pokes fun at corporate culture, television, and consumerism.
Chaos again ensues when Gizmo, the adorable Mogwai, accidentally gets wet and spawns new Gremlins. These mischievous creatures run amok in the high-tech skyscraper, causing havoc and chaos.
The Gremlins even go as far as to invade the movie studio within the film, creating chaos both on and off the screen.
