With the first Season of House of the Dragon concluded we look forward to season 2 and the new HOTD Pop figures that will follow. The HOTD Dragons are all different in size, appearance, and personality, even when flying high in the sky above Westeros.
Caraxes is the dragon of Daemon Targaryen.
He is a striking ruby-red colored dragon and was first introduced to HOTD fans in the very first episode of season 1. Together with his master Daemon Targaryen, they are a ruthless duo, particularly during battles. Caraxes has an insatiable appetite that has earned him the nickname “Bloody Worm.”
Funko gives us two versions of Caraxes. We have the House of the Dragon – Caraxes Metallic WB Shop Exclusive Funko Pop and the House of the Dragon – Caraxes Target Exclusive. Both versions capture the dragon’s impressive wingspan and fearsome expression.

House of the Dragon is the story of the Targaryen’s and is set 200 years before Game of Thrones. The HBO series adapted from the book “Fire & Blood” by George R.R. Martin. Martin’s exquisite writing and storytelling have given us a whole bunch of memorable characters in season one.
There is Princess Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen, the daughter, and brother of King Viserys I, Alicent Hightower daughter of the Hand of the King and childhood friend of Princess Rhaenyra, and then there is Rhaenys, the “Queen Who Never Was.” to name but a few
HOTD Season One
The season 1 Finale gave us treachery, patience, diplomacy, grief, and an overall feeling of the impending war and revenge that is on the way.
House of the Dragon has been a huge hit with Game of Thrones fans with season one really being a setting-the-scene season. Viewers had to navigate big jumps in the story timeline to push us forward in the timeline fast enough to really get into the compelling storyline.
The timeline jumps gave us significant cast changes. Milly Alcock and Emily Carey played the young Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower in their teenage years and were childhood friends. But as we now know this was to change as a result of the decisions of King Viserys I. A great rivalry arose as Rhaenyra was named the King’s Heir. Alicent Hightower married the King and became queen making her Rhaenyra’s stepmother.
Midway through season 1 Milly Alcock and Emily Carey were swapped out for Emma D’Arcy, and Olivia Cooke who played older versions of the girls to keep up with the timeline shift.
The Hollywood Reporter, reports very healthy viewing figures that have averaged 20 million viewers throughout the season.
There have been notable performances by Milly Alcock, Emily Carey, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, and Eve Best in the lead roles that have held the audience with ease from beginning to end.
We now look forward to the release of House of the Dragon Season Two. And of course, we welcome any new House of the Dragon Funko Pop releases like these HOTD Caraxes Funko Pop releases in the meantime.
